Beth Nelson, AFCI Certified Film Commissioner, is the Executive Director of the Savannah Area Regional Film Commission. She promotes the Savannah area to the entertainment industry, serving as a liaison between film companies and local municipalities, providing assistance to production companies filming in the area, and supporting local crew and businesses. She has worked as a location manager for film, television and commercials, and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the entertainment industry. She holds a Master of Education degree from Armstrong State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia. Beth served on the Savannah Film Commission from 2012-2016 and is a founding member of Savannah Women in Film and Television. She is a member of the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Commission and Savannah State University’s Journalism and Mass Communications Advisory Board.
Entertainment Industry Liaison
Based in Los Angeles, Ralph Singleton is responsible for the marketing and selling of the Savannah region as a location for film, television and other productions. He is an award-winning producer of film and television and has worked on more than 40 motion pictures and two television series including Cagney & Lacey, for which he won an Emmy Award, Emmy Nomination, Humanitas Award and the Nancy Susan Reynolds Award. Some of his credits include: Because of Winn-Dixie, Murder at 1600, Supernova, Last Man Standing and Another 48 Hours.
Catalina was a community organizer and cultural developer in Colombia. In 2013 she graduated from SCAD with an MFA in Film and Television. She has been a guest speaker in film and documentary master classes held in South America. She was an artist in residency at Reel Works in NYC while working as a development producer for 22 Whitestone. Catalina joined Poverty Row Entertainment where she ran daily operations and co-produced the upcoming independent feature film Why Not Choose Love: A Mary Pickford Manifesto.
Katie Schuck is a freelance filmmaker and producer with more than 12 years’ experience on feature films, commercials, studio television productions and nationally syndicated talk shows. As the location specialist for the Savannah Regional Film Commission, she promotes Savannah’s best locations to prospective productions. Katie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film production from DeSales University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from SCAD in Film and Television Production. She currently serves on several boards, including the Georgia Film Academy Advisory Board, Film Biz Recycling’s board, and the executive board of Savannah Women in Film and Television (SWIFT).
Location Scout / Photographer
Andy Young has worked as a freelance location scout and location manager for feature films, commercials and still photography since 1994. Andy has simultaneously worked assisting the City of Savannah in attracting productions through location scouting and photography for 20 years. Andy studied art and photography at The University of the Arts and SCAD.
