Permit Requirements

After registering with the Savannah Regional Film Commission through their Project Registration Form, each City of Garden City-owned location should be submitted to Ben Brengman via the City of Garden City Film Permit Application.

Garden City requires all productions to submit a permit application at least 10 days before filming. In addition, all fees, deposits, and certificates of insurance must be secured 10 days prior to filming.

Notification shall take place following the City’s review of the application and no less than five business days prior to the planned activity.


Type of Insurance Required: Commercial General Liability, naming “The City of Garden City” as an additional insured.

Minimum Limits (per occurrence): $2,000,000

Evidence of Insurance: Evidence of Insurance must be submitted before a permit can be effective.

Use of City Property $400.00/day
Police Officer Security/Extras $40.00/hr (4 hour minimum)
Police Vehicle $50.00/day
Firefighter $40.00/hr (4 hour minimum)
Fire Truck (varying sizes and water use) $74.57 – 121.00/hr (4 hour minimum)
Water Hookup, Metering, water, etc. Based on Current Rates
Public Works assistance in road closures, etc. Based on Current Rates
Last Minute Changes and/or Requests $100.00
